L.A.R.A - Animal Rescue & Farm Sanctuary is a Registered Charity dedicated to rescuing and re-homing larger farm type animals, also known as 'lifestyle' animals or 'farm pets'. Perfectly located in a big farming community, we are here to help 'lifestyle' animals that are either injured, sick, surplus, or need re-homing due to change in people's circumstances that own these pets. We don't interfere with farming or take in large commercial herds, instead we work with farmers and help bridge the gap between farmers and the community wishing to own a farm pet on their lifestyle block. We take in many rescued animals from Animal Control, SPCA, other rescues, farmers, and private individuals and help and help find them homes as pets. Our Sanctuary side to the farm provides a safe haven for those animals non-rehomable, or sponsored. The farm relies totally on Sponsorship and/or Donations.
For Adoption - Kittens & hens!
We also have many kittens on foster. Males $70 - Females $90 desexed, flea/wormed. Viewing available, please message our FB page, or call our landline.
We also have lots of hens available for adoption, most laying - ex battery shavers and some pretty cross breeds. We cannot guarantee which hens are laying, but we know most are. Hens are $20 each.
We also have many pretty roosters available too, NOT for eating though! Roosters help fend off hawks etc when chicks are around, and help protect the hens. If you can give one of our pretty boys a loving home, he would love to be a stud muffin to one of your hens ;) Roosters are $15 each, full of character and our roos are very tame.
Chicks - yes we often take in Mummas with chicks. We care for them, and nuture them past the first few months when they are vulnerable to predators or illness. Our chicks for adoption are fully feathered and ready for new homes. Adoption fee for feathered chicks is $10.
